Behind the Scenes!
Here are a few quick snapshots taken on my phone at various stages of development. It is sometimes difficult to convey the amount of time and work that can go into a painting. This one started out from scratch with building 3 frames by hand out of lumber; stretching canvas onto them; and coating each with several layers of primer. After the surfaces were ready, next came many painting sessions during a period of about six weeks. Every now and then, I would snap a photo to keep track of some of the changes that occurred during the process of figuring out how to get the piece just right. This isn't a complete record; there were more stages of changes to the painting than those pictured here. In between each of these images, there is anywhere from two to eight hours of work.
